Deisamar De Soto-Torres is a prominent Central Florida businesswoman and community leader dedicated to women's empowerment and business development through her leadership of the HAPBWA Foundation and various philanthropic projects.

Biography

Deisamar De Soto-Torres, born and raised in Puerto Rico, is an influential community leader who has left an indelible mark on Central Florida. With an MBA in Marketing from the University of Phoenix, Deisamar began her professional career in the supermarket industry in Puerto Rico, working at places such as Empresas Cordero Badillo, Inc., or Wyndham Condado Plaza Hotel & Casino.

Her entrepreneurial spirit led her to successfully operate a Mail Boxes Etc. franchise with her husband Gustavo, turning it into one of the most profitable stores in Puerto Rico. She subsequently took over management of her husband’s CPA firm, and in 2010, she moved her skills and experience to Orlando, Florida, where she continued to expand her career in the field of accounting and compliance as a director of Accounting & Compliance, Inc.

In 2014, Deisamar channeled her passion for community service by founding the nonprofit From My Closet to Shine, which assists underprivileged students in participating in their senior proms by providing them with full attire and assistance at the event. This initiative underscores her commitment to youth empowerment and equal opportunity.

Additionally, her leadership has been crucial to the Hispanic Business and Professional Women Association ( HAPBWA ), where as president, she doubled membership and established strategic alliances with important entities both locally and internationally. Under her direction, HAPBWA became a vibrant platform for women's professional development.

Deisamar has also been featured in the media with its program “ Haciendo Negocios ” (Doing Business), which it launched in 2015. Through this, it has offered an educational platform to discuss critical issues affecting small and medium-sized businesses, interviewing professionals from various industries and providing valuable resources for business growth.

In 2016, Deisamar and her husband were recognized by Vision Magazine as one of the most influential Hispanic peers in Florida, a testament to their significant impact in the business community and beyond. Their philanthropic work is also extensive, involving themselves with multiple organizations such as the Orlando Ballet and the Osceola Pregnancy Center, as well as initiating projects such as Hispanic Women Leaders to foster female leadership.

Currently, as president of HAPBWA Foundation , Deisamar continues to dedicate her life to community improvement, promoting entrepreneurial culture, and empowering women. With her family as a fundamental pillar, she and her husband Gustavo continue to work together, sharing a common vision of authenticity and service.
